Hot Sauce & Even Hotter Margaritas are Coming to Taco Cabana + Giveaway: Win Taco Cabana for a Year!

Taco Cabana

An early morning taco, some mid-day nachos or a fajita feast at dinnertime, Taco Cabana has always been a go-to destination for hungry Texans any time day or night for a couple generations. The first Taco Cabana, or “TC” as many locals call it, opened in 1978 as a small, neighborhood taqueria in San Antonio. Now, it’s spread to 170 locations over three states.

Even after so long, they still do things the same way – simmering beans, hand-pressing tortillas and preparing all of its food from scratch every day. But, the chefs and tastemakers behind the scenes work to keep things fresh, too.

Taco Cabana

I was invited to join a group of San Antonio influencers for a special tasting of three new items that restaurant goers will get to enjoy very soon. The first is Taco Cabana’s The Original Mexican Hot Sauce coming to San Antonio in December. It’s bright and tangy and almost has a tamarind flavor, though it’s made with chile de arbol, guajillo peppers, fresh veggies and Mexican spices.

Next up were two awesome margaritas: the mango margarita and the jalapeño-infused guava margarita. Both were very tasty and refreshing, but both had a little twist. The mango margarita was super refreshing and served with spicy salt on the rim, but the guava margarita was my favorite. Spicy and sweet and a little tart, this was my favorite of the night. I can’t wait until it arrives at my neighborhood TC.
