San Antonio Cocktail Conference: Signature Cocktail Recipe + Festivities Begin for 2016 Conference

It’s still several months until the big weekend, but the organizers behind the next San Antonio Cocktail Conference are already toasting to another sparkling year.
During a recent celebration, organizers debuted the conference’s signature cocktail: Beso de Agave. According to press information, “agave is known in Mexico as aguamiel, or ‘honey water’. The Aztecs prized the agave as a gift from the gods and used liquid from its core to flavor food and drinks.” We’ll gladly accept that gift come happy hour.
Beso de Agave
- 1 oz. Milagro Reposado
- 1 oz. Montelobos
- 1.5 oz. Pineapple Juice
- .75 Fresh Lime Juice
- Barspoon Agave Nectar
- Ginger Beer
- Ancho Reyes
- Mint Sprig for Garnish
Combine Milagro Reposado, Montelobos, pineapple juice, lime juice, and the spoonful of agave nectar in a shaker with ice.
The SACC will take place January 14 through 17, 2016, but the festivities are already beginning. This month cocktail fans will flock to A Walk Through Mexico, a celebration of Mexican street food and cocktails create with mezcal and tequila. Local favorites Hot Joy, Los Barrios, Mixtli, El Mirador, Toro Taco Bar and The Monterey will be participating. What’s more conference profits benefit children’s causes in San Antonio. Last year’s conference raised more than $355,000. Cheers to that!
