Join us for Vestido Rojo! #SAVestidoRojo

On Saturday, February 27 about 1,000 women from all around San Antonio will gather to learn about heart health, celebrate healthy living and get a chance to care for themselves. That’s the mission of Vestido Rojo.
Now in it’s 10th year, Vestido Rojo is a massive event organized and presented by the American Heart Association that helps raise awareness about the importance of heart health and the danger of heart disease in Hispanic communities. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Hispanic women in the U.S. But only 29 percent of Latinas are aware of that fact. This means moms, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousins, grandmothers and friends can be affected.

As Latinas moms, we often take charge of our family’s health care. We ensure the kids are well, our husbands or partners are healthy and that our parents and family members are as taken care of as possible. But, it’s easy to forget our own health in the hustle and bustle of caring for everyone else. It’s important to remember that our families need us at our best, and we deserve to have the best health we can.
To help us get there Vestido Rojo has a number of fun activities planned for its guests:
- Breakfast and welcome
- Guest speakers
- Heart-health workshops
- Cooking demonstrations
- Health screenings
- Lunch
- A play about what heart disease can do to family & friends
