#TejanaStyle: Nicole by OPI Coca-Cola Nail Lacquers

Looking at nail polish bottles is so much fun. The rainbow of colors, the glittery shades, the subtle shimmers – I love them all. Nail polish is the candy of makeup. I get sucked in to displays of new color collections, and it’s the reason I have dozen of little bottles lining my beauty drawers.
As fun as displays are, I love seeing how colors look on real people with real skin tones. If you are like me, keep reading. I tested the new Nicole by OPI Coca-Cola Collection and loved it. In addition to being fun, they are very flattering on medium to tan skin tones. Take a look!

The Brights
Always a Classic Coca-Cola
It’s amazing how similar this nail color looks to the red on the actual Coca-Cola can. Bright, metallic and shiny, it’s very wearable, but also super bright and fun.
The Look is Orange
On my skin tone, this color is a cross between an orange and a melon and definitely springy. Those with darker nail beds will need several coats to get the flat color effect – I required three coats.

The Bolds
In Grape Demand
A super fun color, In Grape Demand is somewhere between a true plum and a violet/magenta. There is no sparkle or sheen, it’s a flat color that’s very pretty on it’s own, but works great as a base for a glitter topcoat.
Zero is My Hero
Deep, deep, deep. What stands out at first glance is the dramatic color, but take a deeper look. There is a subtle shimmer to the polish and a swirl of different tones that almost looks like the bubbles in the glass.

The Glitters
Seriously Citrus
Super fun. A clear base is the perfect backdrop to the bold green, blue and white glitter of different shapes and sizes. It’s a cute interpretation of the bubbles in a Sprite bottle. I applied three coats to get this effect.

The Glitters
DC Lover
I must admit, I love a nice cool, iridescent polish shade on deeper skin tones. I think it looks fresh and clean. And this particular pretty silver with small red glitter is another flattering lacquer. Worn alone, it’s a nice shimmery sheer. Worn on top of another color, it can give it an icy sheen.
