Culinaria Wine and Food Festival takes a Bite Out of San Antonio

Disclosure: I’ve partnered with Culinaria Wine and Food Festival to help spread the word about this fabulous event, and I’ll be attending Tex-Mex and Tequila courtesy of the organization.
Few words bring me as much joy and anticipation as “food and wine festival.” So, Culinaria Wine and Food Festival is my most wonderful time of the year. A foodie to my core, I love all things sweet, savory, spicy, salty, and this annual festival celebrates the best of San Antonio flavor for a few precious days.
From Thursday, May 18 to Sunday, May 21, foodies can enjoy a number of different events designed to please everyone from the brunch-lover to the barbecue aficionado to the wine connoisseur. This year’s line up boasts everything from a seafood and champagne brunch, a wine luncheon and grand tasting, which promises a jaw-dropping spread. A list of events can be found on CulinariaSA.org

Like so many of my fellow food-fans, it’s very hard to choose which events to indulge in. I wish I could be at every single tasting, but true to form my eyes widened when I read the description of Tex-Mex and Tequila, which seems to have been designed for Tejanas like me who are devoted to their tacos, salsa and margaritas. Needless to say, I will be there! Here’re the details:

TEX-MEX AND TEQUILA
When: Saturday, May 20, 2017, 11:00 AM
Price: $35 (General Admission) $50 (At the Door)
Where: La Cantera Resort and Spa
Often overlooked as the super-star that it is, yet, the center of many celebrations among family and friends and a comfort food for all, we’re giving Tex-Mex the stage that it deserves. When partnered with its good friend, Tequila, the show will go on and will certainly entertain plenty of taste buds. Learning a bit of history along the way of exactly how Tex-Mex came to be will have everyone singing its praises! Your one-ticket purchase not only includes entry into the Tex-Mex and Tequila event, but, also an array of wine, beverage and food seminars as well. Now, when we say seminars, we don’t mean the perfect time to take a nap… the Culinaria seminars are certainly informative, but, the way that we learn best is through tasting, and you can be sure that there will be plenty of that.
While many culinary festivals are pricey, Culinaria includes events that are palatable (get it?) to different budgets. First-timers and families might enjoy Burgers, BBQ and Beer, with tickets starting at $10. Meat-lovers might be partial to From Campfires to Tablecloths, the decadent, steak-centric opening night dinner, with tickets going for $125 per person. No matter what event you want to dig in to, get your tickets as soon as possible to ensure you have a seat at the table.
I’ll see you this weekend! Buen provecho.
