Baby Joy! Adorable Gifts for Mom and Baby at Bambino’s Baby & Children’s Boutique + Giveaway
Like so many moms-to-be, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my second bundle of joy. While that means a whole lot of organization, coordination and it also happily means a lot of shopping. My desire for quality baby clothes and gear and my love of supporting talented local and Texas-based businesses brought me to Bambino’s Baby & Children’s Boutique in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio.
The intimate boutique located in the Lincoln Heights shopping center may be cozy, but it contains the makings for one stylish baby and one well-stocked nursery. The walls are dotted with high-end layettes, toddler dresses, adorable short sets and some of the finest onesies you will find anywhere in the city. Naturally, I shopped for myself, but knew this would be my go-to shop should any friend of family member find themselves expecting any time soon. (Lucky for them, the store offers a registry.)
Karen Saunders, owner of Bambino’s, took me through the store and highlighted some fabulous gifts that any first-time mom or been-there-done-that mom would love to receive. Pura 9 oz. Bottle, $25
Bottle, sippy, water bottle. There is almost nothing this stainless steel bottle can’t do. They keep the contents warm or cool for up to 6 hours and are free of plastics. Because they are so durable, kids can use them through different phases of their development. You can personalize them for just $12 more.
Kantik Quilts $70 to $125
They are a super soft, a generous size, reversible and have all the qualities of baby’s favorite blanky. However, the quality and the design will make it a perfect memento for mom and decorative item for the nursery. You can also have them personalized with baby’s name or a monogram and turn this cozy blanket into a keepsake.
Little Bird Vintage Designs Collection, $30 and up
This sweet and quirky collection is the work of a local designer and is exclusive to Bambino’s. Each item features the signature Little Bird, which is hand-painted, triple coated and individually stitched to their items. What’s more, with every purchase of a Minky pillow, the designer donates a Little Bird Vintage Designs blanket to a child in need.
Austin Tie Dye Co. Sugar Skull Swaddle, $30
Another Bambino’s exclusive, these light as air swaddle blankets have so many uses – swaddling, comforting, nursing cover, lovie or just throw it around your shoulders like a shawl. The pretty swaddlers are hand dyed and made in Texas. And, it’s pre-shrunk so it won’t suddenly get smaller straight out of the dryer.
ABaybee Boutique Teething Necklace
Unlike other teething necklaces, the beads from this pretty jewelry piece are gummy and pliable, so they won’t hurt baby’s already teething-irritated gums. The beads also come in different colors and work with a number of outfits so mom can feel stylish while helping sooth and comfort baby.
Little Giraffe Baby Blankets, $35 and up
You won’t find any blanket softer or snugglier, you just wont. One side has microfiber velvet and the other a soft satin. The best part is that they come in a full size and mini version, and moms and dads can get it monogrammed.
